  1. Lockheed Martin (LMT) is feeling the pain of US-China trade tensions. China has blocked purchases of the defense contractor’s products – punishing the company for the US’s sale of offensive arms to Taiwan. The Western-backed government of the island state is a long-time adversary of Beijing, and the purchases go against long-standing Chinese policy of non-interference in its internal affairs. In response, analysts at Cowen downgraded their rating on LMT from Neutral to Underperform, and lowered their price target from 5 to 0.

  2. The production of the iconic Ford F-150 truck has been put on hold due to a fire at a parts supplier’s factory. The blaze, which occurred at a Meridian Magnesium Products of America’s Michigan factory, caused the temporary closure of three Ford plants. The F-150 is the bestselling pickup truck in the United States and a major contributor to Ford’s profits. Ford’s shares took a hit following the announcement, closing down 5.2% on the news.

  3. Roku (ROKU) and Twilio (TWLO) have seen a jump in their stocks following their strong first-quarter earnings reports. ROKU saw its share prices soar by 19.9%, while TWLO saw a jump of 17.3%. The surge in share prices come after both companies posted strong earnings and sales figures, along with guidance that surpassed analyst expectations.

The retail giant has certainly been no slouch – its shares are up over 50% since the start of 2018. Analysts at Goldman Sachs think that, while it is possible, it wouldn’t happen anytime soon. They have placed a 12-month price target of seed_expre=’TipRanks Thurs Morning News!
