I recently decided to try out Shopify dropshipping for 1 week and see if it could turn a decent profit. For those who don’t know, Shopify Dropshipping is a form of eCommerce allowing you to sell products to customers without having to hold inventory. This allows you to reduce risk, providing you with a low cost way to start an online business.
The process began by me researching and selecting a winning niche where I could sell a product people wanted. I chose the fitness niche and found several products that could be sold via Shopify. I also created a Shopify store, making sure it was appealing and inviting to potential buyers.
Next, I needed to find efficient and reliable suppliers that didn’t charge exorbitant prices. I spent hours searching for suppliers and eventually I found a few fitting my preference.
Once my store was set up, the next thing I did was set up Facebook and Google Ads. I ran campaigns optimized to generate sales, and when I saw the ads were being successful, I increased my ad budget.
The process of product fulfillment wasn’t difficult, as the suppliers were very helpful. Initially, I had to keep a close eye on shipments as it took a couple of weeks before products were at my customers’ doorsteps. Eventually, things sped up, and the shipments arrived quickly and reliably.
I also started a blog on my site, where I posted articles and tips related to fitness. This allowed me to engage with potential customers, build a presence and make my site look more ‘human’.
At the end of the week, I was pleased with the results. Despite only modest ad spending, I had made several sales totaling around 0. I was encouraged and continued to run the campaigns. After a few months, I’ve seen steady sales and my business is slowly growing. I’m excited to see what the future holds!
