The U.S. stock market closed higher today. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day up 0.36%, while the S&P 500 was up 0.59% and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.88%. Tech stocks led the rally, with Facebook, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft all gaining more than 2%. Meanwhile, energy stocks were laggards, with Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Marathon Petroleum all down more than 2%.
The markets were buoyed by continued optimism about the economy reopening, as well as better-than-expected quarterly earnings results from several companies.
